Class Media Group’s Dr Desmond Kofi Annan elected leader of Legal Green Association

Dr. Desmond Kofi Annan of Class Media Group has been elected leader of the Legal Green Association (LGA) for the 2026/2027 academic year. 

Dr Annan secured 144 votes representing 56.7 percent of the total votes to emerge winner of the association’s leadership election. 

The Legal Green Association is an association for students pursuing professional law programmes at the Ghana School of Law and other institutions mandated to undertake professional law programmes. 

The election, which had 397 registered voters, recorded a 64 percent turnout with 256 members casting their ballots. 

All eight executive positions were decided with no ties or positions left undecided.

Other elected executives include Agyeman Caleb Osei, who was elected Deputy Leader with 99 votes representing 39.3% while Abena Danquah Okai won the General Secretary position with 240 votes representing 93.8%. 

Harriet Senam Ametzi was elected Deputy General Secretary with 145 votes (57.1%) and Rauf Yahaya Lutie secured the Financial Secretary position with 189 votes (75.6%).

For the position of Deputy Financial Secretary, Richard Abredu Agyei recorded 246 votes representing 96.1 percent.

Agyenim Boateng Chrisman was elected Organising Secretary with 118 votes (46.1%) and Kingsley Buabeng Eduah became Deputy Organising Secretary after polling 161 votes (63.6%).

The results were declared on Friday, September 11, 2026, following the completion of the election process.

Dr Annan’s election places him at the head of the association as it begins its 2026/2027 administrative year with the new leadership expected to represent the interests of professional law students and promote their welfare, academic and professional development.
