Foreign Affairs Minister presents six new buses to Ministry staff
The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa, has presented six brand new Toyota Coaster buses to the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a move aimed at improving staff welfare and easing transportation challenges.
The buses, all 2025 models, were handed over earlier Thursday in fulfilment of a promise the Minister made to staff during a durbar held on his first day in office.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the Minister said the initiative was intended to reduce the stress associated with commuting to work, noting that staff productivity is closely linked to their well-being.
“Coming to work should not be stressful,” he said, adding that the buses would be used to transport staff to and from work at no cost.
He also expressed satisfaction with recent improvements in the general conditions of service for employees of the Ministry, describing staff welfare and motivation as key priorities of his leadership.
The Minister reaffirmed his commitment to creating a supportive and conducive working environment, stressing that a motivated workforce is essential for the effective delivery of Ghana’s foreign policy and regional integration objectives.
Staff of the Ministry expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as a timely intervention that would significantly ease their daily commute and improve morale.
