Ghana, UK strengthens bilateral ties in high-level foreign affairs meeting in Accra
The meeting, described as “exceptionally fruitful and substantive,” focused on enhancing historical ties, expanding trade, and fostering opportunities for young entrepreneurs in both countries.
Minister Okudzeto-Ablakwa noted that trade between Ghana and the UK has already increased by 10%, and both sides have explored innovative ways to open new markets for Ghanaian and UK businesses.
Security cooperation and counterterrorism initiatives were also discussed, highlighting the countries’ shared commitment to regional and global stability.
In a major development, Ghana and the UK announced plans to hold a grand investment summit in May 2026 under the patronage of President John Dramani Mahama.
The summit aims to sustain the progress achieved in bilateral relations and create new avenues for investment, trade, and collaboration.
Both nations affirmed their determination to solidify a strategic alliance that promotes economic growth, security, and mutual prosperity.
