IGP Yohuno elevates 17 officers after major drug and arms busts
The Inspector-General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno has approved the promotion of 17 police officers in recognition of what the Service described as exceptional commitment and professionalism in the line of duty.
In a statement shared by the Ghana Police Service on Wednesday, January 28, the promotions were linked to the officers’ involvement in significant security operations that led to the interception of 10 packaged slabs of cocaine, valued at approximately GH¢1,032,650, along with several sacks containing substances believed to be narcotics at Ho in the Volta Region.
The officers were also credited for the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, a pump-action shotgun, and eight rounds of live AAA ammunition during a separate routine patrol at Jacobu.
