International Kingdom University raises alarm over rising youth drug abuse

The International Kingdom University, in partnership with CAMO-GLO, has expressed deep concern over the escalating abuse of illicit drugs and other harmful substances among Ghanaian youth.
This pressing issue was a focal point at the 28th Global Doctoral Humanitarian and Ministerial Excellence Awards held at Kasoa in the Central Region.
Apostle Dr. Edward Ofori Nti, Dean of Student Affairs at the university, emphasised the significance of the award ceremony not only in recognising societal contributors but also in addressing critical challenges like youth addiction and moral decline.
He highlighted the importance of such platforms in fostering awareness and initiating discussions on these pressing issues.
Dr. Prophet Onyame Gya, a clergy member honoured at the event, also addressed the gathering, cautioning the youth against the dangers of illicit drug use.
He called upon religious leaders, traditional authorities, and Civil Society Organizations to collaborate in educating young people about the risks associated with drug abuse.
The event underscored a collective commitment to combating substance abuse among the youth, emphasising the need for community-wide efforts to address this growing concern.
