Speaking during an interview on Class 91.3 FM with host Kwame Dwomoh-Agyemang, Ambassador Gilad praised the Black Stars for their determination and resilience, noting that their performance was a source of pride not only for Ghanaians but also for many supporters in Israel.
"We are very much attached to the football scene in Ghana, and your draw yesterday is considered to be also an Israeli achievement in a way," he said.
The Israeli envoy explained that many people in Israel closely follow Ghanaian football and have developed a strong connection with the Black Stars over the years.
"So we identify very much with the Black Stars, and we wish them a lot of success down the road," Ambassador Gilad added.
Looking ahead to Ghana's next fixture against Croatia on Saturday, the ambassador expressed confidence in the team's prospects and assured them of continued support from Israel.
"I think there is another game on Saturday against Croatia, and I think Israelis are going to support Ghana strongly all the way back in Israel," he stated.
