Minority criticises President Mahama over attendance at National Day of Prayer amid flood response concerns

Parliament’s Minority Caucus has criticised President John Dramani Mahama over his participation in the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving Service, arguing that the government’s immediate priority should have been to support victims of the recent floods in Accra.
Speaking to the media, Second Deputy Minority Whip Jerry Ahmed Shaib said the president’s attendance at the event, including moments in which he was seen dancing, sent the wrong signal at a time when many flood-affected families were in urgent need of assistance.
He maintained that government attention should have been focused on relief efforts and emergency support for those impacted by the flooding, rather than public ceremonial engagements.
