“Not all tongues come from the Holy Spirit”-Rev. Paul Fifi Baidoo
Rev. Paul Fifi Baidoo, has cautioned Christians about the misuse and misunderstanding of speaking in tongues, emphasising that not all instances come from the Holy Spirit.
Speaking on Accra -based No.1 FM’s Journey to Heaven show, hosted by P.Kay, he noted that some people learn to speak in tongues rather than receiving it as a spiritual gift.
According to Rev. Baidoo, some young men attend church motivated by women, while others are not genuinely inspired by the Holy Spirit but are instead taught or mimicked.
“Some churches operate more like organised companies than spiritual centres,” he said.
“They impose rigid systems, such as fixed times or methods to speak in tongues, which limit the Holy Spirit’s work.”
He explained that while tongues can be taught in some contexts, this does not mean they are spiritually approved.
“It is better to allow the Holy Spirit to give tongues in a free and natural flow,” Rev.Baidoo stressed.
He added that God can also provide inspiration or impartation through a pastor to help guide believers in the Holy Spirit.
