Office of Atukpai Mantse dismisses reports of Nii Ayi Bonte II's alleged death
The Office of the Atukpai Mantse and Gbese Mankralo has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging the death of Nii Ayi Bonte II, Gbese Mantse and Adonten of the Ga State.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, the office described the reports as false, unfounded, and without any basis.
According to the statement, the circulation of the information has caused unnecessary anxiety among family members, traditional authorities, subjects, well-wishers, and the general public.
The office condemned what it described as a malicious act and urged the public to disregard the reports entirely. It stressed that matters concerning the welfare and status of traditional leaders are communicated through appropriate customary and official channels, not through unverified social media publications.
The statement also called on individuals involved in originating or disseminating the information to cease immediately and refrain from actions that could disturb public peace or undermine the dignity of the Gbese Stool and the Ga Traditional institution.
The public was advised to rely only on official communications issued by the Gbese Dzase regarding matters affecting the Gbese Stool.
The release was signed by Tatse Nii Tettey Jijin II, Warlord of Atukpai and Administrator, on behalf of the Atukpai Mantse and Gbese Mankralo.
