‘Our voices in politics matter’ - Grace Ayensu-Danquah encourages women in politics

Deputy Minister of Health and Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan, Grace Ayensu-Danquah, has congratulated female aspirants contesting in the ongoing constituency elections, urging them to remain committed to political participation and public service.

In a message to mark the commencement of the constituency elections, Grace Ayensu-Danquah said the participation of women in politics remains important to building an inclusive and representative democracy.

She acknowledged that women remain relatively few in political contests but stressed that their presence and contributions are significant.

“Though we are few, our presence is significant. Our voices in politics matter, and our participation is vital to building an inclusive and representative democracy.”

She also commended the courage of the female aspirants who have stepped forward to contest, describing their decision to seek political office as an inspiration to young women and girls.

“Your courage to lead is commendable and serves as an inspiration to young women and girls across Essikado-Ketan and the country.”

She further said the aspirants had already made a contribution to public service by choosing to put themselves forward for leadership.

“You have already made us proud by choosing to stand for service.”

The Essikado-Ketan MP wished all the female aspirants well in the elections and called for campaigns conducted with unity and decorum.

“I wish you all the very best, and I encourage a campaign grounded in unity and decorum.”

Ayensu-Danquah is the Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan and serves as Deputy Minister of Health. 

Parliament’s official profile confirms her position as MP for Essikadu-Ketan while government records list her among the Deputy Ministers of Health. 

Her message comes as the constituency election is underway with her emphasis centred on encouraging greater participation of women in political leadership.
