Parts of Greater Accra Region declared security zones amidst land dispute tensions by RECSEC
The Greater Accra Regional Security Council (RECSEC) has declared a security zone in the Adenta West municipality due to ongoing land ownership disputes between traditional authorities and family interests.
The move aims to maintain peace, law, and order in the area.
In a public address, Regional Minister Miss Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, Member of Parliament for Shai-Osudoku Constituency announced that all developmental activities in the area have been halted until further notice, pending court decisions.
Joint police and military patrols have been deployed to maintain order, and only authorised security personnel are permitted to operate in the area.
The declaration is in response to intelligence indicating potential escalation of tensions over land ownership disputes.
The public is urged to cooperate with security measures to ensure safety and peace in the region.
