Police investigate alleged case of kidnapping

The Ghana Police Service has said it is investigating an alleged case of kidnapping and assault of a female adult captured in a video which has gone viral on social media.
“We assure the public that we are working around the clock to get to the bottom of the matter and get those behind it arrested,” an April 29, 2025, statement by the Ghana Police Service (GPS) noted.
In the viral video, a woman appeared to be tied up while sitting on a chair in a dark room. With her breasts exposed, she visibly shaken, she appealed for ransom money speaking in Akan Twi. A masked man later appeared, gesturing and announcing if the ransom was not paid, he would cut off the woman’s breast and sell it.
