President Akufo-Addo urged to use the last SONA to apologise to Ghanaians
Dr Richard Akplotsyi a Senior Lecturer in Built and Natural Environment at Ho Technical University has urged President Nana Akufo-Addo to admit he has failed Ghanaians and apologise to them during his last State of the Nation Address (SONA).
“You have failed Ghanaians as a president and you must admit and apologize to them before you exit office" the National Democratic Congress (NDC) member said.
“You have promised to protect the public purse but under your watch, Ghanaians are suffering for your corruption and your lack of economic management leading the country into economic hardship.”
He added the president had failed in the fight against illegal small scale mining (galamsey), too.
Dr Akplotsyi said as the president delivers his last SONA, he expected him to accept his failure and admit he had been overwhelmed by Ghana’s problems.
Speaking on Ho FM’s Adanu Morning Show with Polymath Agbanyo, he described President Akufo-Addo's leadership as the worst in the history of Ghana.
He said “the haircut, job loses,” were some of the main reasons for Akufo-Addo’s failure, revealing he had nothing to offer the nation.
Meanwhile, some Ghanaians expects President Nana Akufo-Addo during his last SONA will cancel the E-Levy, and Betting Tax; and speak on the violence during the December 2024 election, among other things.
President Akufo-Addo is expected to deliver his final State of the Nation Address to Parliament today, Friday, 3 January.
This address, mandated by Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, will provide a comprehensive report on the state of the nation as his administration concludes its term.
