President Mahama leaves to UK and Davos for Accra reset discussions and World Economic Forum meetings.
President John Dramani Mahama has departed the country on an official visit to the United Kingdom and Switzerland, where he is scheduled to hold discussions with important global partners on Ghana’s economic agenda and development goals.
According to a statement issued on Sunday, January 11, 2026, by the Presidential Spokesperson and Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the President left Ghana en route to the United Kingdom to hold meetings with Coordinators of the Accra Reset Initiative.
The Accra Reset Initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to reposition Ghana’s economy through strategic reforms, partnerships and policy realignments aimed at restoring stability and accelerating sustainable growth.
Following his engagements in the United Kingdom, President Mahama will proceed to Davos, Switzerland, where he is scheduled to participate in a session of the World Economic Forum (WEF). The annual forum brings together global political leaders, business executives, policymakers and development partners to discuss pressing economic, geopolitical and social issues.
The statement further indicated that the President is expected to hold bilateral meetings with several world leaders and international stakeholders on the sidelines of the Davos Forum. These engagements are anticipated to focus on investment opportunities, economic cooperation and Ghana’s development agenda.
The President is expected to return to the country after the completion of his official engagements.
