Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang will on Monday, July 13, 2026, undertake working visits to the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) as part of her ongoing engagements with Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

According to a press brief, the visits are aimed at reviewing the work of the two ministries, assessing progress in the implementation of government policies and programmes, and discussing priorities to advance the government's development agenda.

At the Ministry of the Interior, the vice president will receive briefings from the minister and the ministry's leadership on key policy initiatives, operational performance, achievements and challenges.

The discussions are expected to focus on internal security, public safety and the work of the ministry's agencies in maintaining peace and protecting lives and property.

As Chairperson of the Ghana Police Council and the Ghana Armed Forces Council, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang will also use the engagement to review the security sector's priorities and ongoing interventions in support of national peace, stability and development.

The vice president will later visit the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, where she will be briefed on the ministry's programmes and ongoing initiatives in environmental protection, scientific research, technology, innovation and climate action.

The discussions will also examine the ministry's role in advancing sustainable development and supporting Ghana's industrial transformation agenda.

According to the statement, the engagements form part of the Vice President's continuing consultations with state institutions to strengthen coordination across government, improve service delivery and support the effective implementation of the government's priorities.
