The Reagent of the Wulensi Traditional Area, Naa Osuman Salifu Wumbei, together with the Wulensi Saha, Naa Mohammed Adams Ijor-Nda, has paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Mr Godwin Kudzo Tameklo (Esq.), to discuss matters of mutual interest.

Key among the issues raised during the meeting was a request for the NPA to consider the Wulensi Traditional Area in the implementation of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes. 

The traditional leaders highlighted the developmental needs of the area and expressed hope that the Authority would support initiatives that would improve the welfare of their people.

Mr Tameklo welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the NPA’s commitment to engaging traditional authorities as key stakeholders in national development. 

He noted that traditional leaders play a critical role in community mobilisation and behaviour change, particularly on matters relating to public safety.

The NPA Chief Executive used the meeting to urge the traditional leaders to lend their voices in support of the Authority’s public education and sensitisation campaigns. 

He specifically appealed to them to caution their people against the dangerous practice of fetching fuel from overturned tanker trucks.

According to Mr Tameklo, such actions pose serious safety risks and have the potential to cause loss of lives and property. 

He stressed that sustained collaboration between the NPA and traditional authorities would help promote safer practices and enhance public awareness on petroleum-related hazards across communities.
