GA/R: 4 Ada SHS students arrested over viral cutlass threat video
Four students of Ada Senior High Technical School have been arrested by the Ghana Police Service after a viral video showed a student holding a cutlass and threatening colleagues on campus.
In a statement signed by the Tema Regional Police Public Affairs Head, Dede Dzakpasu, police said they became aware of the incident around 12:10 a.m. on May 22, 2026, after the video circulated on social media.
A police night patrol team was immediately dispatched to the school following the circulation of the footage.
With assistance from school authorities, police arrested three students identified as Raymond Gyamfi, Oscar Amemoair and Odartey Wilson, all aged 18, together with a juvenile who also appeared in the video.
The suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
Police urged students to use established school structures to resolve disputes peacefully instead of resorting to violence or intimidation.
The command also appealed to parents and school authorities to strengthen supervision, discipline and guidance among students to help maintain safety and order in schools.
“The Command assures the public that investigations are ongoing and further developments will be communicated in due course,” the statement said.
