President John D. Mahama has sent a clear and uncompromising warning to criminal networks, stressing that Ghana will not surrender a single street, community, or public space to lawlessness — not today, not tomorrow, not ever.

Speaking at the National Police Headquarters in Cantonments, Accra, today, Thursday, December 4, 2025, after handing over 40 state-of-the-art armoured vehicles to the Ghana Police Service (GPS), the president underscored his administration’s commitment to equipping the security agencies with the tools, technology, and operational strength needed to safeguard the country.

He emphasised that the vehicles were not merely symbolic gestures of support but formed part of a broader, ongoing investment in national security infrastructure — one that included improved intelligence capabilities, rapid-response mobility, and enhanced protection for officers working at the frontlines.

The president noted that those who insisted on disturbing the peace of Ghana — whether through armed robbery, organised crime, illegal arms trafficking, cybercrime, or gang activity — should understand that the full weight of the state would be brought to bear on them. He reaffirmed that the law of the republic remained supreme, and any individual or group seeking to undermine public safety would be met with decisive, lawful force.

President Mahama further acknowledged the GPS for its dedication and sacrifices, assuring the service that government remained committed to continuously strengthening readiness, morale, and public trust in the nation’s policing.

With this latest deployment of armoured vehicles, the administration aims to reinforce not only operational capacity but also the message that Ghana’s peace is non-negotiable, and everyone in Ghana, local or otherwise, had the right to live and work in security and dignity.
