The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has applied to Criminal Court 3 of the High Court in Accra to withdraw and transfer the ongoing extortion case involving former National Petroleum Authority (NPA) Chief Executive, Dr. Mustapha Hamid, and ten others to Criminal Court four.

During Thursday’s hearing, prosecutors informed the court that a fresh charge sheet was filed on October 17, 2025, and the case has since been assigned to Criminal Court 4 (CC4).

The OSP requested that the current court permit the case to be formally withdrawn and moved to the new court, aligning the next hearing with the scheduled date at CC4.

“We humbly pray that to ensure a smooth transition, the court should oblige us the same date, December 9, so that we may on that day withdraw from this court and proceed to the other court CC4,” the prosecution stated.

Counsel for the accused, Joseph Kpemka, confirmed that the defense had no objections to the application.

The presiding judge subsequently adjourned the case to December 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., to facilitate the transfer.
