Police in Tatale in the Northern Region have arrested five persons suspected of attacking students of Calvary International School.

The arrests follow an incident on May 11, when armed men allegedly entered the school premises, assaulted students, and shut down the school.

The school’s proprietor, Nwein Moses, said the attack was linked to a land dispute involving the school, despite a High Court ruling in Tamale in favour of the institution.

According to him, the matter was reported to police after the incident, but no arrests were made until after media reports on the case.

Following the arrests on Wednesday, May 20, some residents reportedly stormed the police station in an attempt to free the suspects, but police brought the situation under control.

The suspects remain in police custody.
