V/R: Man sentenced to 7 years for defilement in Hohoe
The Ghana Police Service has secured the conviction of a 23-year-old man, Felix Agbodzi, for the defilement of a 12-year-old girl at Gbi-Akplamafu in the Volta Region.
Police said investigations showed that the accused lured the victim to his residence, where the incident occurred.
He was arrested on April 13, 2026, and arraigned before the Hohoe Circuit Court on April 14, 2026. The court, presided over by His Honour Lambert Yiringabaque Kariba, heard the case on a charge of defilement under Section 101(2) of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
The accused pleaded guilty and was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment.
The Volta North Regional Police Command has urged the public to report cases of defilement and related offences, warning that offenders will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
