The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has sanctioned Ekumfi T.I Ahmadiya Senior High School in the Central Region over alleged examination malpractice during the ongoing 2026 WASSCE for School Candidates.

As part of the sanctions, candidates from the school will no longer write their remaining examination papers on campus. Instead, they have been reassigned to Mankessim Senior High Technical School, where the examinations will be conducted under a new team of supervisors and invigilators.

The decision follows the arrest of two teachers from the school who allegedly compromised the French Paper 1 examination, according to a letter issued by WAEC’s Central Regional Office to the school authorities.

In the letter, WAEC stated that it could “no longer trust the integrity” of the school to conduct the examinations without malpractice, prompting the relocation of the examination centre.

The council subsequently directed the school’s management to facilitate transportation for all affected candidates to the new examination venue.

School authorities have also been tasked with arranging the transport of examination materials from the depot under police escort to ensure the integrity and security of the process.
