Ghana signs MoU with Google for Education to advance AI-driven learning

The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Education and Google for Education aimed at strengthening the integration of advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) into Ghana’s education system.

The agreement, signed with Mr. Kelvin Kells, Global Managing Director for Google for Education, establishes a strategic partnership focused on enhancing innovation in teaching and learning, improving digital literacy, and building the capacity of teachers across the country.

It also seeks to equip Ghanaian students with critical digital and technological skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving, technology-driven global economy.

Speaking on the development, the sector Minister noted that the collaboration reflects government’s broader commitment to transforming education through innovation, technology, and international partnerships.

 

According to him, the initiative is expected to position Ghanaian learners to compete effectively in the digital age while strengthening the country’s education system to meet future workforce demands.
