The High Court has dismissed an election petition filed by former Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) President of the African University of Communications and Business (AUCB), Haruna Rashid Yussif, challenging the outcome of the institution's 2026 Student Representative Council (SRC) presidential election.

The petition sought to contest the validity of the election results and requested the court to overturn the outcome of the polls. However, after considering the arguments presented, the High Court dismissed the case, effectively upholding the results of the election.

The ruling brings an end to the legal challenge surrounding the 2026 SRC presidential election, affirming the legitimacy of the electoral process and allowing the elected SRC leadership to continue its mandate.
