Kasoa: NDC member urges President Mahama to make lawlessness a national priority

A self-described staunch member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Patrick Ndego, has made a passionate appeal to President John Dramani Mahama to make the fight against vigilantism a national priority, especially in volatile areas like Kasoa of the Central Region.

Speaking in a recent interview, Mr Ndego expressed deep concern about the growing culture of impunity in Kasoa and its surroundings, citing incidents of beatings, threats, and even murder attributed to vigilante groups.

“People are being brutalised, warned, and in some cases, killed.

This cannot continue. The President must act decisively to restore order,” he stressed.

His comments come as a murder case involving a military officer killed at Millennium City a year ago nears its next court hearing on May 12, with a jury already empanelled.

The high-profile case has reignited public concern about justice and the influence of political connections in legal processes.

Ndego cautioned fellow NDC members, particularly ministers, against any attempt to interfere in the judicial process.

“If someone is an NDC member and has done something wrong, the law must take its course,” he stated firmly.

He further warned against selective justice and any effort to shield individuals based on party affiliation.

“We will not tolerate interference. If any minister tries to influence this case for political reasons, we will come after you,” he declared.
