NACOC embarks on operation to destroy seized narcotics at Bundase

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has launched a major nationwide operation to destroy various types of illegal narcotics confiscated from individuals across Ghana.
The initiative is part of a broader national strategy aimed at curbing drug abuse and strengthening public safety.
The operation is being carried out in collaboration with the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) and the Ghana Armed Forces.
As part of the process, extensive laboratory tests were conducted to verify the composition and authenticity of the seized substances before destruction.
In a major development, the NIB reported the seizure of a staggering 350 million grams of cocaine, underscoring the severity and scale of the drug threat facing the country.
Officials say the joint effort demonstrates the unwavering commitment of Ghana’s security agencies to fighting drug trafficking and protecting communities from the harmful impact of narcotics.
The destruction exercise marks a critical step in the country’s anti-narcotics agenda, reinforcing the message that drug-related crimes will be met with decisive action.
