YEA, Ghana Prisons Service holds passing-out ceremony for second batch of Prison Service Assistants

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA), in collaboration with the Ghana Prisons Service, has held a Passing-Out Ceremony for the second batch of Prison Service Assistants under the YEA Prison Assistants Module at the Ankaful Maximum Security Prison in the Central Region.
The ceremony was led by Deputy CEO of YEA, Abubakari Saana Abdul-Kudus, on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, Malik Basintale, and attended by senior officials from the Ghana Prisons Service.
The event marks another milestone in the successful partnership between the YEA and the Ghana Prisons Service, aimed at training and deploying 5,000 young Ghanaians nationwide to support the effective management and operations of Ghana’s correctional facilities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Abdul-Kudus commended the graduates for their discipline and dedication throughout their training period, noting that their service would contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s internal security and rehabilitation efforts.
He emphasised that the initiative reflects YEA’s broader commitment to creating decent and sustainable employment opportunities for the youth, while simultaneously strengthening the capacity of state security institutions.
The collaboration between YEA and the Prisons Service has been lauded as a practical example of public Sector partnership aimed at addressing both unemployment and manpower gaps in critical national institutions.
The newly trained officers are expected to be deployed to various prison facilities across the country to assist in administrative, technical, and operational duties within the Service.
