Ghana Medical Trust Fund deploys digital platform at Tamale Teaching Hospital
The Ghana Medical Trust Fund has deployed a new digital platform at the Tamale Teaching Hospital as part of efforts to strengthen specialised healthcare financing and service delivery.
The initiative marks a key step toward the full rollout of the Fund’s integrated software system, designed to streamline patient enrolment, case management, and financial support for individuals requiring specialised medical care.
Speaking during a sensitisation session with hospital management, Eugene Kofie expressed confidence that the engagement would adequately prepare the facility for onboarding onto the platform.
He explained that the system is aimed at identifying, registering, and managing patients in need of financial assistance, particularly those battling chronic illnesses, cancer, and other high-cost medical conditions.
According to him, the technology-driven solution will enhance efficiency by reducing paperwork, improving data accuracy, and enabling real-time tracking of patient support processes.
It is also expected to promote transparency and accountability while linking eligible patients to available funding opportunities.
The Director of Medical Affairs at the hospital, Alhassan Abdul-Mumin, speaking on behalf of management, commended the Ghana Medical Trust Fund for its continued support.
He assured the GMTF team of the hospital’s commitment to effectively implement the system and deliver quality healthcare services to patients.
