Korle Bu Hospital suspends elective surgeries amid lift malfunctions
Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) has suspended elective surgeries and temporarily relocated emergency cases due to ongoing lift issues in the surgical block.
The hospital will now focus solely on emergency surgeries, which will be conducted at the Ground Floor Surgical (Neuro), Accident Centre, Pediatric, and Gynaecology theatres.
Patients will be admitted to specific wards during this period.
KBTH in a statement aid it is currently in the procurement process for replacing and refurbishing the lifts and is working to expedite the completion of these repairs.
