W/R: Outgoing Regional Director of Health receives praise from staff and community leaders
Scores of residents in the Western Region have showered tons of praise on the outgoing Western Regional Health Director, Dr. Dr. (Med.) Marion Okoh-Owusu for her hard work, dedication and meritorious service which have contributed to the Health directorate’s success.
The Western Regional Director of the Ghana Health Service is being reassigned to the Service’s headquarters in Accra.
Dr Okoh Owusu served as the Western Regional Director for about a year.
Speaking during separate interviews on the sidelines of the launch of the government's free Primary Health Care programme, some of the workers emphasized Dr. Okoh-Owusu's strong leadership and team spirit.
They thanked Dr Okoh-Owusu who, prior to becoming the Regional Health Director, served in Mpohor District and Ellembelle in the region as Disctrict Health Director.
According to the workers the hardworking female health director who is a professional Medical Doctor and Public Health Specialist, and has a PhD to her credit.
They claimed that she also served as the Regional Health Director in the Western North Region and established the newly-created health directorate at Sefwi Bodi.
They praised her for fostering productive collaboration between the health directorate and and the people, particularly Regional Coordinating Council and the traditional authorities.
They indicated that her hard work across the districts which were admired by all, earned her the position of Regional Health Director in Western North and Western Region.
"We commend the outgoing health director for her commitment to serving the people of the Western Region.
"We believe that the challenges she encountered in the region will strengthen her to excell in her new position and wherever she is being transferred to", some of the workers indicated.
They wished her success in her new role and encouraged her to continue to dedicate herself to Ghana’s public health mission and goals.
Meanwhile, some health workers in the region have also indicated that they will dearly miss the leadership and tutelage of the outgoing Regional Health Director and wished her the best as she goes to the Headquarters in Accra.
"I personally want to appreciate your hardworking spirit and the love you have for people around you.
We shall miss you. Thank you for your support. We wish you the best", one of them indicated.
Others remarked "May you continue to shine. We wish you all the best at the head quarters. God be with you".
Journalists who encountered the outgoing health director in their work also commended her for the great relationships.
