Reports from various polling stations in the Krowor Municipality of the Greater Accra Region reveal that Electoral Commission (EC) staff have yet to receive the meals promised to them, leaving many hungry and frustrated as they work tirelessly during the ongoing 2024 general elections.

The EC had assured its personnel that breakfast and lunch would be delivered to polling stations to support their efforts throughout the day.

However, as of 11:25 am, staff at several locations were still waiting for their meals.

At one polling station, a staff member expressed her discomfort, saying, “I’m hungry, oh,” while another EC official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the absence of food supplies.

This situation has raised concerns about the welfare of EC staff, who are enduring long hours to facilitate a smooth voting process.

Speaking to Accra FM 100.5 FM's Sir Samuel Thompson at the Nungua Information Center polling station, a Presiding Officer expressed disappointment, calling on the EC to honour its commitment promptly.

The staff are appealing for immediate intervention, emphasizing the importance of proper support to maintain their energy and focus during this critical exercise.
