#2024Polls: EC to announce presidential election results at 4:30 pm today
The Chairperson of Ghana’s Electoral Commission(EC), Madam Jean Mensa, has announced that the results of the December 7 presidential election will be declared today at 4:30 pm.
Speaking during a media briefing at the National Collation Centre at the Commission’s headquarters in Accra, Madam Mensa confirmed the anticipated announcement, which has been delayed, prompting anxiety among some supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), will be made at 4:30 pm.
The delay in declaring the results has heightened tensions in some quarters, with party supporters eager for clarity on the outcome of the tightly contested polls.
Madam Mensa assured the public of the Commission’s commitment to a transparent and credible process, urging calm as the final collation nears completion.
