Kwame ‘Abronye DC’ Baffoe has retained his position as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bono East Regional Chairman.

The vocal NPP stalwart secured another term after winning the regional election held on Saturday, August 15, at Baakuniaba, near Sunyani, in the Bono Region.

Mr Baffoe polled 201 votes to beat four other contenders and retain the chairmanship in a decisive victory.

His re-election gives him another mandate to lead the party’s regional structure and coordinate its political and organisational activities across the region, as the NPP prepares for its next phase of political activities, and ultimately the 2028 national elections.

A total of 281 delegates from 12 constituencies were expected to vote in the Bono regional elections, which were supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC).

The election was conducted smoothly, with police officers deployed at the voting centre to maintain law and order.

Despite the competitive nature of some of the contests, the exercise proceeded peacefully.
