Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana has been elected Savannah Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), defeating incumbent Clifford Abdallah Braimah by a slim margin.

The August 15 regional elections ended with Alhaji Sulemana polling 92 votes against Mr Braimah’s 88 votes, giving him a four-vote victory.

Mr Braimah, a former Managing Director of Ghana Water Limited, was seeking to retain his position as the party’s regional chairman.

Alhaji Sulemana’s victory means he will take over the leadership of the NPP in the Savannah Region and will be responsible for steering the party’s political and organisational activities in the region.

In other results from the Savannah Regional elections, Aboagye Kwame was elected Vice Chairman.
