Ayawaso West Wuogon MP-elect mourns passing of father
The Member of Parliament-elect for Ayawaso West Wuogon in the Greater Accra Region, John Dumelo, has announced the passing of his father, Engineer John William Kudzo Anato-Dumelo Snr, at the age of 75.
In an emotional Facebook post, Dumelo shared the heartbreaking news and reflected on their final moments together, highlighting the deep bond they shared.
Dumelo revealed that he had a heartfelt conversation with his father just hours before his passing.
“At age 75, you lived your life well,” he wrote. “Yesterday, you called me several times to ask me to come see you.
We sat on the bed and spoke at length about politics, life, farming, and business, and of course, we gossiped.”
Their conversation also touched on Dumelo’s upcoming swearing-in ceremony as an MP.
His father offered advice, urging him to serve diligently in government.
The tragic turn of events unfolded shortly after their meeting.
Dumelo recounted how, minutes after leaving his father’s home, he received distressing news.
“Ten minutes after I left your house, I was called that you were not being responsive.
I came back; we rushed you to the hospital, and you were gone,” he wrote, expressing his shock and grief.
In his tribute, Dumelo expressed gratitude for his father’s unwavering support and guidance.
“Thanks for being my father, thanks for being my best friend, thanks for being my number one cheerleader, and thanks for everything you did for me,” he wrote.
He concluded his tribute with a poignant farewell: “Say hi to Mum for us all… We will miss you.
Rest in perfect peace, Engineer John William Kudzo Anato-Dumelo Snr.”
