Base Movement unites to camapign for Kennedy Agyepong ahead of 2028 elections
Two political support groups backing presidential hopeful Kennedy Agyapong have agreed to merge efforts and work together toward the 2028 general elections.
The decision followed a joint meeting between The Base Movement and The Base Ghana First, where members adopted a series of resolutions aimed at strengthening unity and coordination within the groups.
In a joint statement issued after the meeting, both sides announced their commitment to supporting Mr. Agyapong’s ambition to become President of Ghana in 2028.
The groups also agreed to put aside all internal disagreements in what they described as the “supreme interest” of their shared political objective.
As part of the resolutions, members and supporters of the two groups were urged to avoid statements or actions capable of creating division or tension within the movement.
The statement further cautioned media allies, social media activists and communicators associated with the groups to refrain from insults, inflammatory remarks and attacks against fellow members.
According to the organisers, the move is intended to promote discipline, mutual respect and unity as preparations toward the 2028 elections gather momentum.
The statement was jointly issued by The Base Movement and The Base Ghana First and signed by several members present at the meeting.
The gathering was coordinated by Jacob Osei Yeboah, convener of the Progress Pact and former independent presidential candidate.
