Bless Kodjo Katamani: Akatsi North nominee secures 100% endorsement to become DCE

Assembly members and government appointees for Akatsi North district, Volta region, have confirmed Bless Kodjo Katamani as their new District Chief Executive (DCE).
Mr Katamani delivered his acceptance speech, expressing his heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all members of the assembly and the government appointees for their confidence and trust in him to take up the DCE position to enhance acceleration of development in the area.
He said he intimately knew the challenges of the district, noting he will do everything possible to ensure a transformation in the area.
“I am aware of the challenges of the district and the position given me is a task and I am ready to carry it to its destination to bring development and accountability,” he started.
Mr Katamani called on all residents within the Akatsi North district to rally behind him to ensure the good people of Akatsi North got their fair share of the national cake.
“We have a lot of potentials in the district and I will leverage on that to change the economic growth and fortunes of the district. I will ensure we prioritise education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and economic empowerment to make Akatsi North district more attractive,” he said, noting this would attract and create job opportunities for the youth.
Mr Katamani emphasised the need to be united, eschewing what would divide but embracing what would transform and make the district attractive to others.
He pledged to work together with stakeholders and traditional leaders for a better fortune, adding that development was a collective responsibility that required the involvement of all stakeholders, including political leaders, civil servants, religious bodies, youth associations and the entire Akatsi North citizens.
“Government alone cannot do it that is why President John Dramani Mahama has decentralised government to the local level to ensure every Ghanaian benefits and participates in the governance processes,” he exhorted.
“Akatsi North will be more attractive if we can all come together with same mind to develop the district and uplift it to the limelight.”
He assured his administration would ensure accountability, transparency, commitment and dedication to the development of the area.
On his part, the Volta Regional Minister James Gunu thanked the assembly members for giving a 100 per cent endorsement to the nominee.
He noted the confirmation of the DCE was a step to developing the area because President John Dramani Mahama was in hurry to transform the country and reset every sphere of life, getting the country back on track.
“You have proven to President John Dramani Mahama that you are ready to reset Akatsi North district and uplift it to a transformative status through development and job creations,” he noted.
“The confirmation of your District Chief Executive marks the beginning of a new era for Akatsi North and we believe that his leadership will not disappoint the assembly members who have endorsed him today. John Dramani Mahama is committed to addressing developmental challenges, improving infrastructure, and enhancing the well-being of every Ghanaian which Akatsi North is not exception,” Mr Gunu declared.
The regional minister, therefore, urged other remaining districts to emulate the steps of Akatsi North and confirm their nominees to enable President Mahama reset the country.
