Ashanti Regional Chairman aspirant Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as 'COKA,' has expressed confidence in dominating the New Patriotic Party (NPP) regional executive elections by nothing less than 90 per cent of the total votes cast.

"I am not expecting anything less than 90% of the total votes today. Nothing has changed, nothing is going to change. I am going to be the next regional chairman for the New Patriotic Party," he told the media at the venue, Kumasi Jubilee Park.

He said he had done well to communicate his vision to the delegates and was confident of their massive support.

"I have shared my vision and mission with ideas for the delegates, and I believe today they are going to vote massively for me," he said.

COKA also commended party faithful for their dedication to internal democracy and the continued growth of the ruling party in its stronghold.

"This is an important day for our party," he said. "I am very grateful to the delegates and members of our party for their commitment to democracy and the growth of this party."

A closely watched contest

COKA's biggest contender, former Bantama Member of Parliament Dr Henry Kwabena Kokofu, is confident he would carry the day by between 62 and 65 per cent.

The regional chairmanship race forms part of a broader executive contest in the Ashanti Region, where 34 candidates are vying for 11 executive positions. Approximately 1,022 delegates drawn from various constituencies across the region are casting their ballots to determine the party's regional leadership.
