CRC holds consultations with former leaders, prepares for nationwide engagements

The Constitution Review Committee (CRC) has intensified its stakeholder consultations as part of ongoing efforts to solicit broad input on potential amendments to Ghana’s 1992 Constitution. This week, the Committee held a series of high-level, productive meetings with key statesmen, including former President H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, former Vice President H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and former Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu.
The discussions covered a wide range of constitutional and governance issues, drawing on the experience and insights of the former leaders to inform the review process. The Committee described the meetings as "very productive" and reiterated its commitment to building a national consensus on proposed reforms.
In a statement, the CRC announced that it will soon publish a revised calendar for its postponed zonal public engagements, which are set to take place in selected locations across the country. These forums will allow ordinary citizens to share their views in person and participate directly in shaping the future of Ghana’s governance framework.
In the interim, the Committee is encouraging the public to submit written proposals and suggestions via email at: submissions@constitutionreviewgh.org.
