Dec. 7 Polls: Choose development over financial gains – Asiedu Nketia to Afrancho-Akomadan voters
The National Chairman of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has appealed to voters in Afrancho-Akomadan, in the Offinso North Constituency, to reject financial incentives from political opponents and instead prioritise policies that promise sustainable development.
Addressing a crowd on the first day of the NDC’s Retail Campaign in the Ashanti Region on Monday, 4 November 2024, Mr. Asiedu Nketia cautioned that voting based on short-term financial gains could impede the constituency’s progress.
“We will equally share monies and goodies if that is what you want instead of using that for developmental projects,” he told supporters, stressing the importance of investing in long-term growth over instant rewards.
“How will there be development? They have enough to spend on and yet, use the meagre to get you to vote for them,” he noted.
The NDC National Chairman highlighted the party’s track record in the region, urging voters to support candidates dedicated to effective governance and sustainable improvements.
“Anyone who cannot see the development projects the NDC has brought to the Ashanti Region must be overlooking them. Everyone benefits from our projects,” he stated.
“If the other party shares monies based on status without any development in our communities, and yet you vote for them, we’ll also do the same,” the NDC National Chairman added.
