Dorcas Affo Toffey supports Jomoro artisans with tools under National Apprenticeship Programme
The Member of Parliament for Jomoro, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, has distributed sewing machines, hair dryers, and other working tools to artisans and apprentices across the Jomoro municipality under the National Apprenticeship Programme.
The intervention is aimed at supporting skills development and strengthening self-employment opportunities for young people within the municipality.
Beneficiaries received the equipment as part of efforts to equip them with the necessary tools to establish and sustain their own businesses after training, thereby promoting job creation and economic independence.
According to the initiative, the support is expected to enhance productivity among artisans, encourage local enterprise development, and contribute to broader economic growth in both the Jomoro municipality and the country at large.
The programme forms part of government’s broader commitment to youth empowerment, vocational training, and the promotion of employable skills among young people.
The initiative has been described as a timely intervention for many apprentices who have completed or are nearing completion of their training and are preparing to enter the workforce.
Stakeholders have expressed optimism that continued support for vocational and technical training will help reduce unemployment and strengthen Ghana’s informal sector.
