Energy Minister vows accountability over missing containers amid criticism

The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has pledged to get to the bottom of recent concerns surrounding the mismanagement of state resources, vowing to hold accountable all those involved in the alleged container discrepancies.
In a firm statement, the Minister underscored the importance of transparency and accountability in public service, stating that his focus is on ensuring every single container is properly accounted for rather than indulging in political finger-pointing or deflecting blame.
Mr. Jinapor has also announced steps to investigate the procurement processes linked to the issue, assuring Ghanaians that anyone found culpable for the abuse of state resources will face the full consequences of the law.
This comes on the back of a call by the Institute for Economic Research and Public Policy (IERPP) for his dismissal, accusing the Minister of leadership failure and misinformation in handling the matter.
Despite the criticism, Mr. Jinapor remains undeterred, insisting that his commitment to good governance and accountability remains unwavering.
“We must rise above the noise and focus on what matters — protecting the public purse and restoring trust in our systems,” he said
