Focus on your spiritual practices, let others follow theirs without judgment – Ofosu Nkansah to Ghanaians

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has called for greater religious tolerance in Ghana, emphasising the nation’s identity as a multifaith state.
His remarks come in response to criticisms directed at Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for engaging with traditional priests during a recent campaign tour.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, 1 October 2024, the NEIP CEO stressed that Ghana is home to a diverse range of faiths, including Christianity, Islam, and traditional beliefs, and that this religious diversity should be celebrated, not criticised.
"Ghana is a multifaith state. Whoever wants to serve us as President must have respect for all the major religions. Interacting with Traditional Priests on campaign tours doesn’t make anyone evil," the NEIP CEO wrote.
He urged Ghanaians to focus on their own spiritual practices and allow others the freedom to follow their beliefs without judgment, noting that many citizens blend traditional customs with mainstream religions.
The NEIP CEO also called for a culture of tolerance, where dialogue and cooperation among different faiths contribute to national unity and peace.
"Focus on your religion and leave others to do theirs," he added, reinforcing the importance of mutual respect for maintaining harmony in the country.
