I have no interest in contesting my MP-Wassa Amenfi MCE reveals
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Wassa Amenfi Municipal Assembly in the Western Region, Mr Raymond Nana Ebbah, has dismissed claims that he intends to contest the parliamentary seat currently held by Nicholas Amankwah.
Mr. Ebbah described assertions made by the Constituency Chairman, Nana Kofi Atochia, as “entirely false,” stressing that party guidelines bar him from contesting while serving as MCE.
According to him, the claims are a “figment of imagination” and an attempt to create division between himself and the sitting MP.
“As leaders in the constituency, we have maintained a good working relationship.
The MP is aware that I have been supportive of his work since 2016,” he stated.
Mr. Ebbah reaffirmed his commitment to his current role, noting that he remains focused on his responsibilities as MCE and will continue to support the MP in all endeavours.
He made these remarks during an interview on the Ghana Yensom morning show hosted by Chief Jerry Forson on Accra 100.5 FM on Friday, March 27.
Touching on development initiatives in the municipality, Mr. Ebbah highlighted ongoing projects under his leadership, including the drilling of 30 boreholes, with 10 already completed and serving residents.
He also noted that several deplorable roads in the area have been upgraded through the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), alongside the creation of a bypass to ease traffic congestion.
The MCE further emphasised his commitment to strengthening grassroots relations within the party and supporting the government’s development agenda in the municipality.
