The Minority in Parliament has asserted that the 2025 Budget Statement, presented by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, confirms that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government led by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo left behind a strong economy.

According to Dr. Amin Adams,  the budget statement vindicates the NPP's position that the economy was not in crisis when the National Democratic Congress (NDC) took over.

He pointed to the 5% GDP growth rate cited in the budget as clear evidence that the NPP handed over a resilient economy, contradicting the NDC’s earlier claims of economic distress.

The Karaga MP and former Minister of Finance made this assertion while reacting to the budget statement presented to the House on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
