NPP elects COKA as Ashanti Regional Chairman by a landslide
Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, has won the Ashanti Regional Chairmanship election of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in a decisive victory.
COKA, the former NPP Chairman for the Afigya Kwabre South Constituency, secured 658 votes, representing 70.98 per cent of the total votes cast.
He defeated his sole rival, Dr Henry Kwabena Kokofu, a former Member of Parliament for Bantama, who received 269 votes, representing 29.02 per cent.
The election also saw the executive committee take shape across several key portfolios.
Amofa Jantuah was elected First Vice Chairman, while Addai Opoku Aikins secured the Second Vice Chairman position.
Dr Francis Adomako will serve as Secretary, supported by Kingsley Bonsu Kyeretie as Deputy Secretary.
Others are Organiser Denis Kwakwa, Youth Organiser Martin Ameyaw, Women's Organiser Beatrice Owusu, Treasurer Helena Mensah, Communication Officer Keskine Owusu Poku, and Nasara Organiser Abubakar Razak.
Addressing the delegates after the elections, regional Chairman-elect, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, called for unity as the poll closed to secure victory in the 2028 general elections.
"Now, the election is over, family. As we are done with the election, we need to now unite. If we don't come together, we will not be able to win power. Let's unite to win power," he said.
