Polls closed at 2 PM during the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) regional executive elections, with sorting and counting of ballots now ongoing across several regions.

The North East, Northern, Western, and Savannah Regions were among the first to conclude voting.

The exercise was largely peaceful, with no major incidents of violence recorded so far.

The Upper West Regional elections were temporarily disrupted at the Wa Technical Institute, however, after some delegates from the Nandom Constituency interrupted the voting process, prompting police to intervene. The disruption was an isolated incident, with elections in other regions generally proceeding peacefully.

Security personnel were deployed at polling centres to maintain order and ensure the safety of delegates, candidates and election officials, with the Northern Region receiving 300 officers.

Meanwhile, voting at the WAEC Hall in Tema West, Greater Accra Region, ran beyond the scheduled 2 PM closure.
