Sheikh Mustapha Abdul-Hamid intensifies bid for NPP National First Vice Chairman slot
Former Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority, Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, has formally informed the Northern Regional Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Rashid Salifu, of his intention to contest for the position of National First Vice Chairman of the party.
Sheikh Abdul-Hamid paid a courtesy call on Alhaji Rashid Salifu, popularly known as “COP,” at his residence earlier on Wednesday as part of consultations ahead of the party’s internal elections.
The visit formed part of efforts to engage key party stakeholders and seek their support and blessings for his bid.
During the meeting, discussions reportedly centred on party unity, grassroots mobilisation and strategies to strengthen the NPP ahead of future political contests.
Sheikh Abdul-Hamid is expected to continue consultations with party executives and stakeholders across the country as he pursues the National First Vice Chairman position.
