V/R: Suspected NDC supporters besiege Ho MCE's residence
Some youths, suspected to be members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), surrounded the residence of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ho on Monday, locking his wife and children inside the apartment.
Divine Kwabla Bosson, the MCE, who also contested the Ho Central parliamentary seat on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), explained that his wife and children had gone to the house to remove clothes from the washing line.
Upon entering the property, the alleged youths locked the gate, apparently under the suspicion that the woman was attempting to remove government property from the residence.
It took the swift intervention of the Ghana Police Service to rescue the family members and ensure their safety.
In an on
Ho FM 92.5's Adanu Morning Show with Togbe Ahorgo I, MCE Bosson expressed his deep disappointment over the incident. He said that, having served the people of Ho, he had expected gratitude and support, rather than such an attack on his family.
He described the experience as traumatising, noting: "Election should not divide us, but rather, we should uphold each other and share ideas for the development of Ho Central rather than standing against each other."
Bosson reiterated that political differences should not lead to such confrontations, urging all parties to focus on the collective progress of the region. "It is disheartening to witness such actions. We must work together for the betterment of Ho and the country as a whole," he said.
