The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has urged Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, leader and Presidential Candidate of the Movement for Change, to focus on a policy-driven campaign and steer clear of insults as he prepares for the December 7 elections.

The Asantehene offered this advice during Mr. Kyerematen’s visit to the Manhyia Palace on Wednesday, October 2, where he sought the support of the people in the Ashanti Region.

In his remarks, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II emphasized the need for campaigns to centre on policies that benefit Ghanaians, rather than resorting to negative rhetorics.

"Alan Kyerematen is my grandson, and I will support his vision.

I encourage you to clearly communicate your policies to Ghanaians so they understand your capabilities.

Focus on your campaign messages and avoid the politics of insult," the Asantehene advised.

He encouraged Mr. Kyerematen to engage in meaningful discussions that resonate with voters and address the country's pressing issues, ensuring that his campaign remains constructive and impactful.

In response, Mr. Kyerematen expressed gratitude for the Asantehene’s wise counsel, assuring him that his campaign would remain focused on policy.

He reiterated his commitment to running a campaign that reflects the aspirations of Ghanaians and aligns with the values of his movement.

During the visit, Mr. Kyerematen also introduced his running mate to the Asantehene, seeking the blessings and support of traditional leaders in the Ashanti Region as he embarks on his presidential campaign in the region.
